Walter Goossens

Arthur Gallery opens its programme with the work of Walter Goossens. No coincidental choice: his œuvre shows exactly what the gallery aims to be, a place where craft, thought and space come together.

The exhibition unfolds across two addresses in the centre of Antwerp. At Everdijstraat 8 the drawings and prints take centre stage, the intimate work in which the artist's visual language is born: the line, the repetition, the pressure of the hand on paper. At Lijnwaadmarkt 3 follow the paintings and objects, where that same language gains scale and steps into the room.

Visitors to both addresses see one body of work from two sides: study and result, line and volume, stillness and gesture. The exhibition was composed in close dialogue with the artist, with Filip Schrooyen as curator.

On Thursday 15 October the exhibition opens in the presence of the artist, collectors and representatives of the diplomatic community in Belgium. The opening is by invitation; please register via hello@arthurgallery.be.
