ARTHUR GALLERY PRESENTS
David Katshiunga
Connected in Contrast

Black and white. Light and shadow. In the work of David Katshiunga these are not opposites but two halves of the same story. Between the deepest black and the brightest white his images take shape: a place where difference does not divide, but connects.
The Belgian-Congolese artist (Kinshasa, 1987) came to Belgium as a child and today lives and works in Antwerp. He paints mostly in monochrome, on wooden panels salvaged from discarded furniture, exploring identity, origin and the shared history of Belgium and Congo. His work has previously been shown at the Belgian Federal Parliament in Brussels and at Amare in The Hague.
Over the festive season, Arthur Gallery opens a first chapter with a selection of works. In February 2027 the major exhibition follows. Together with the artist, we are also planning an education project with primary schools, crowned by a first children's exhibition in a gallery: the children's work shown alongside that of the master himself.
